Studio LONK x Mark IJzerman

Space Here Becomes Sound

Space Here Becomes Sound is an interactive installation which combines kinetic sculpture and sound. Participants rotate a series of geometric metal sculptures to trigger a variety of sounds associated with spaces of the home. Combining different layers or sequences of sound lets users craft their own soundscape relating to the memory and comfort of home.

Studio LONK is a design studio based in Amsterdam. They call their style of artwork “spatial storytelling.” For this project they collaborated with artist and sound designer Mark IJzerman, who utilizes sound, creative coding, and electronics in his artwork.
